There are no doubts that Alisha is currently one of the hottest artists to emerge from the bustling UK tech house scene. Originally from Peterborough, the young producer/DJ started her career playing at places like Junk, Southampton and Mint, Leeds, supporting British heavyweights the likes of Skream and Nic Fanciulli, as well as an impromptu b2b set with Green Velvet at Source Bar last year.
Over the 12 months or so she’s really focussed on her productions, and this year has released with Kaluki, Relief and Toolroom, played several dates at Toolroom’s residency in Ibiza, and was recently interviewed by Mixmag who featured her as one of the most exciting new artists of the year.
Her latest release is her Existence EP on Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters, which you can listen to below and find HERE.
We recently asked her to share some gems from underrated British producers, and below were her picks:
I remember when the boys first showed me this track in summer! Amazing vocal and groove. Pure house always goes down well!
A recent one from Wheats who’s making some great music at the minute. This focuses on mainly a nice synth bassline and a captivating vocal, right up my street!
This track I play probably every single set. Stripped back Solid Groove with a strong lead vocal. Faultless for me!
The groove of this track is spot on for me! Real nice bass line with stripped back breaks. Goes off in the club every time!
Another track I play every set. Iglesias’ groove is something else! Percussive bits and a strong lead vocal break accompanied by some synth effects right before the main drop, pure phone out videoing moment ha!
When Will first showed me this track I knew it was going to be a hit. You can’t help but sing the vocal I’m sure I used to dream about those lyrics!!! But the track itself is epic. Pure summer vibes.
This track I only started playing recently and since the first time I’ve played it ever since. Acid bass line, again great vocals and just the groove is wicked. Sounds x10 better on a club system too, bonus!
Another summer hit! I heard the potential of this track as soon as they sent it to me, one of them closing set moments you have with the crowd.
I believe these guys are one of the best tech house producers around! Time up is one of my favourite, transitions without you knowing!
When I first heard this track on a system (first I heard it too) I think I actually went down to the floor ha! The technical production in this track is unreal. Genius!
Again when I first heard this track back in March I knew it was going to be massive / no1! And it did just that. The Rossi. sound is just pure good vibes and great energy. Due to knowing the history and story behind this one, Paradise will stick with me for a very long time!
