EXCLUSIVE: Time Warp U.S. Will NOT Be Coming Back in 2016

Time Warp US

Following two tumultuous yet ultimately very successful editions, we just discovered today as an exclusive for you that Germany’s Time Warp techno festival will not be returning to the U.S. this year.

In both 2014 and 2015, the minds and organizers behind Time Warp had to switch venues only weeks ahead of each event, both times ending at 39th Street Pier. When this happened, it was extensively reported that it was due to neighbor concerns for noise that ultimately translated into officials imposing a venue change to a more secluded industrial warehouse area of Brooklyn.

Regardless, both editions seemed to go off with a bang, highlighting a selection of top-tier techno and house artists from around the world. Revered named such as Luciano, Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Dixon and Tale of Us were all featured, as well as the much-anticipated return of Ricardo Villalobos to the United States during last November’s program.

A message received today from Time Warp via Facebook has, however, now confirmed that the techno celebration will not be stopping through New York City this year. This news comes hot in the heels of the five deaths at Time Warp Argentina that resulted in the Mayor of Buenos Aires banning electronic music festivals in the city.
