When it comes to house music, Kerri Chandler is up there with the best of them. With the ability to inject pure soul and groove into his records and sets, he never fails with delivering quality music. Today, we throw it back to 1998 with the release of Atmosphere by Kerri Chandler.
Atmosphere, as the title suggests is exactly what we get with this track. It starts with a funky bass and horn stab, followed by a driving kick and jackin hat pattern. Right when you start to hit that groove and start moving, lush house chords come in and provide an overall feeling of warmth to the track. But it’s when the strings come in that you embrace the euphoria of what house music truly is.
Atmosphere is the perfect example of a timeless house record. 16 years later, and I could still see this blowing up dancefloors like DC-10 or Panorama Bar. Take a listen for yourself, and put yourself in the mindset of late 90’s raving and clubbing.
