A Day in the Life is the first chapter of a dedicated series fully curated by Steve Bicknell for KR3 Records. This bold new work by the veteran English artist provides an insight into the mind of Bicknell, showcasing two sides to the artist. Listen to the premiere of the fourth track from the two-sided album below.
The first A Day in the Life project will feature a Side A and Side B in vinyl and digital format.
Side A of A Day in the Life features three tracks by The Evader, an alter ego of Bicknell. An obscure intro leads straight to the point: 4/4 sounds, repetitive and hypnotic, and not afraid to be heavy. In fact, that’s the point the artist is trying to convey: to take everything that is a burden to us and embrace it. After all, there can be no light without darkness.
On Side B, Bicknell elevates the album to a more chaotic zone. As a parallel rail to Side A, Bicknell approaches The Evader’s side with a more furious, still gloomy approach. He moves in the same direction but vents different emotions. The sound is harder, rawer, faster and more impetuous.
An outro ends the EP, as if to represent a circle closing: The first lap inside A Day in the Life.
