The final chapter of a fifteen-year love story. The final chapter for one of the leading men in electronic music and in some way a symbolic final chapter for Space Ibiza, arguably the most revered club on the island if not the world.
Although Space Ibiza still has its final Closing Fiesta to prepare for, which Carl Cox will be headlining by the way, last night’s Music Is Revolution Final Chapter has perhaps more real meaning than the festival-like send-off scheduled for Sunday, October 2nd. For fifteen years Carl’s residency has been the face of Space, his personal friendship with Pepe Rosello the emblem of the perfect Ibiza partnership between club owner and resident DJ. And just like that, with Rosello’s decision to sell the property to the Ushuaïa Group and possibly re-open elsewhere on the island in 2-3 years, that signature element of Ibiza folklore is gone. Tuesdays on the island will never be the same again.
To close out his residency, Cox chose to play the Discoteca all night, delivering a 10 hour all-vinyl performance worthy of a true DJ masterclass. His set was immortalized live by be-at.tv, and is available for replay in full HD below. It was also broadcasted live by over 50 FM stations worldwide and recorded for the 700th Global Radio radio show.
