Pure Hate drops their first release of 2021, “Consume+Impose” from MDD. Based out of Toronto, MDD is a live performance and studio project from Measure Divide and Dolgener.
Having previously released tracks on HANDS, South London Analogue Material, Inner Surface Music as well as Drøne, MDD’s tough industrial sound toes the line between the realms of techno and punk. Their live performances are an improvisation of heavy drum grooves, edgy basslines and distorted elements.
The three original tracks, Apex Switch, Cold Kill and Hate Pusher are a heavy blend of industrial distortion. Apex Switch starts off strong with a hammering bassline and the layers of sound and distortion add to the heaviness of the track. Cold Switch and Hate Pusher are two unrelenting tracks and the vocal samples also give off a demonic edge to the EP.
No Pure Hate release would be complete without a few hard hitting remixes, Swarm Intelligence and Mickey Nox are on remix duties for this release.
A regular on the record label 47, Swarm Intelligence takes on the lead track Apex Switch and gives it a more distorted and dark industrial tone. Meanwhile, S.L.A.M and Perc Trax artist, Mickey Nox hammers home Hate Pusher by giving it a heavy dose of pounding bass that will be perfect for a late night warehouse.
