Premiere: Detroit’s Ectomorph Deliver Stripped-Back Remix for Techmarine Bottom Feeders’ Latest EP

The intrepid Techmarine Bottom Feeders (Paris The Black FU and Luxus Varta) follow up their debut ‘Boanerges and The Watery Deep’ album with this new EP on EPMmusic. As well as enlisting the talents of esteemed Detroit artists, Aux 88 and Ectomorph to remix two of the tracks from the album, it also features three new tracks from the sub-aquatic duo that are exclusive to this release.

The EP opens with its title track, ‘The Oceanic Depths of Jupiter’ where outer space tones are met with underwater bass on this eerily atmospheric Electro cut. It’s followed by a remix of ‘A Quagmire Of Confusion’ from Electro and Techno Bass pioneers, Aux 88 who bring their signature Motor City machine funk to the proceedings.

Another new composition from TBF themselves comes in the form of ‘Squid Ink Posse’ which hacks in some rough sawn bass for a murkier, skuzzed-up ride. It creates a good intro into Ectomorph’s unique styling of album track ‘Sons of Thunder’, as the Interdimensional Transmissions duo deliver a stripped-back version that evokes the power of their live analogue shows.

‘Tactical Sub-mission (Outro)’ ends the EP with an experimental flourish to close this chapter of the Techmarine Bottom Feeders conceptual project.
