Only The Faintest Trace is the Unknown Movements debut release from up-and-coming London-based artist Alternate Current, featuring three original tracks of textural, atmospheric techno and a remix from label boss Other Form.
After an early career making electronic music, London-based Tom McShane made the move to atmospheric, textural techno and unveiled his new monicker Alternate Current in 2019, debuting with releases on Dissonanze Recordings and Unknown Movements. With an immersive sound that draws tones from ambient and grey area without losing sight of its techno orientation, Alternate Current creates a hypnotic soundscape that takes off, imperceptibly, without giving up the opaque smoke and textures that accompany listening.

Unknown Movements is a Bristol-based record label run by Other Form, releasing music in vinyl, cassette, and digital formats, as well as a monthly series of podcast mixes.
Other Form is the electronic music side project by designer Elliot Jay Stocks, loosely spanning the genre(s) of dark, ambient, industrial techno.
