Abstract Division is a long-standing collaboration of Paul Boex and Dave Miller, a Dutch electronic music producer and DJ duo.
With over 30 years of collective experience under their belt, Paul Boex and Dave Miller are skilled selectors who go above and beyond to find a fitting record for the right moment. While releasing steadily on their Dynamic Reflection label, the duo is known for playing and producing driving, pulsing and hypnotic techno. Abstract Division played multiple times in renowned clubs such as Berghain, Tresor, Shelter, KHIDI, and more than 25 countries.
The signature sound captured in their productions always finds its way into the record bags of the world’s key DJs, and each new release marks a subtle evolution in sound. Their first conceptual and 10th-anniversary album ‘Midnight Ensemble’ opens up a new chapter in which they show their ultimate love for a wide range of storytelling music.
‘Midnight Ensemble’ could be interpreted as an ode to nightlife; a reminiscence of all that happens between dusk and dawn, captured and compressed into about one hour of music. An hour in which they so delicately time their changing of styles and tempos. This album is a reflection of that skill, starting its journey with soothing, mood-setting ambient, followed by timeless pieces of Detroit and Dub Techno. A daring electro cut provides a refreshing break from the four to the floor tradition, to be followed by the stripped down sound the duo is so comfortable with.
