Label-head and Tel Aviv resident Kalbata goes full-acid for the second Brush & Broom release, a banging 303 techno/electro four tracker. A homage to ’90s cross-motorcycles, Kalbata whips up four jacking analog bubblers, wrapped in thick-smoke echoes, primal beats and the taste of gasoline.
Tracks so cold that the mud won’t stick, it’s a vigorous, horse-powered drift through icey hills, where schizophrenic acid leads fill the air and drum machine workouts keep the riders on edge.
EP closer “Honda” comes backed by a psychedelic video from none other than Kutiman of ThruYOU fame.
“Kalbata absolutely delivers with ‘Yamaha’, a chilled and mysterious cut with plenty of interesting and unusual accompaniments to the percussion, which really give it another dimension.” – MIXMAG March issue
“Electro freaks will love ‘Toyota’, with its hypnotic squelching loop, panning FX and fuzzy drum machine beats.” – DJ MAG February issue
