Los Angeles based Curt Reynolds has quite the summer ahead of him.
The producer and DJ was raised on the sun-drenched beaches of Southern California’s San Diego, and has been making an impact on the busy electronic music scene over the last couple of years. Following performances at Lollapalooza, Splash Exchange LA, Sound Nightclub and more, Curt Reynolds aka Ben Curtis, returns to play Splash House on August 10th-12th with the funky, deep, and disco vibes that reflect his coastal upbringing and beach party mentality.
Needless to say he is excited about playing one of the funnest SoCal parties of the summer, especially considering he shares the bill in Palm Springs with the likes of Gorgon City, Gryffin, Louis The Child, Annabel Englund, Camelphat and Walker & Royce.
Not only did Curt put together a Splash House inspired Spotify Playlist for your listening pleasure, but he took the time to answer a few questions about his summer, Splash House and more.
Yo! No problem, wanted to highlight some of the groovier vibes I have been playing out recently, including a couple of my own recent original tracks.
Where should someone listen to this?
I would say this playlist best accompanies a hot summer’s day outside at the pool party or on the beach – or your epic Splash House hotel pregame. Maybe even loop the playlist while ripping through your next adventure, an urban road trip or a tropical excursion thousands of miles away.
Any particular stand-out tracks?
Yes! ‘Jungle Boogie’ is a brand new collab from myself and DJ Susan out on Hood Politics Records. It’s an energetic groover and rips through any dancefloor!
How is your summer going so far?
Summer has been excellent. I released my first EP and have been working on lots of music while still enjoying the beach and outdoor activities. I’ve also had some amazing gigs around LA.
You’re playing Splash House, what are you expecting from that gig?
I am expecting a scorcher!!! Cannot wait to play…the crowd and vibes there are just perfect. Everyone is on their best and the talent is top-notch. It’ll be a time!
Have you ever attended yourself?
Yes I have attended, endless fun in the sun and the dancing never stops.
What other exciting projects do you have coming up for the year?
I am currently working on another EP and more singles and remixes to drop this year. Looking to have a huge 2019 in terms of shows and performances.
