Movement Detroit is just around the corner, and this year the Motor City is peppered with more parties than ever. We have decided to save you the time and effort by grouping them all in one comprehensive guide to help you choose and plan your weekend with ease.
The list is sorted in order by day, with events displayed alphabetically. While most are after-parties, there are a few day parties too which are clearly marked to avoid confusion. The 6AM staff combed through the entire list and selected favorites that we recommend based on years of experience traveling to Detroit for Movement weekend.
Please be aware that some lineups are still TBD and some parties are altogether still yet to be announced. We will be updating this list daily to ensure it’s complete for your use. Editor’s Note: If you are looking to get your techno on before the festival even begins then look no further than the return of this exciting collaboration between Chicago-based Oktave and Detroit’s very own Blank Code. Last year the party delivered some of our favorite sets of the weekend including powerful driven performances by Paula Temple, Shifted and Gabi. This year the lineup is just as exciting, with key players from the LA, Chicago and local techno scenes all scheduled to play alongside high-profile guests Function and Anthony Parasole. Originally Orphx was scheduled to play, but due to visa issues attendees will instead see extended sets by drumcell, Function and Anthony Parasole.

Editor’s Notes: Golf Clap are back, and they are moving things to a warehouse this year. While it’s true that most of Movement’s after-party venues might as well be warehouses with a legit bar, Country Club Disco promises great talent and even better party atmosphere. Editor’s Notes: Every once in a while I still think back to the four magic hours when Kenny Glasgow, then 1/2 of No. 19’s Art Department, battled it out with Shaun Reeves of Visionquest for what remains one of my favorite Movement after-party sets ever. Two years later, the two labels are getting back together with Paradigm Presents once more for what is undoubtedly going to be one of the weekend’s highlights. Editor’s Notes: The OG Visionquest foursome has been putting together this Memorial Day Party for 11 years now, transforming Old Miami into one of the hottest venues of the entire weekend. Lineups are always released week of, but that doesn’t stop thousands of industry and music fans alike from spending the majority if not the entire Monday on the patio of this small dive bar. Lines get pretty long, so either arrive early around sunrise or expect to wait up to an hour and a half to get in. While just a rumor for now, we hear that Blkmarket Membership out of NYC will be involved in some capacity this year.
