Life Goes On, No Matter What Happens Today

If you woke up anxious, stressed and/or depressed, I understand, but remember that life goes on, no matter what happens today.

Today is one of the most important days in American election history, one that we have been anticipating, worrying about and stressing over for a long time now.

No matter which side you voted for, what your political ideologies may be, and especially regardless of the outcome of the election, we know one thing for certain: tomorrow is a new day, and life will continue.

So many things could happen. Trump could be re-elected, or Biden could win on a landslide. We could even have a very narrow and contested result, with weeks of uncertainty to follow. The whole world is watching, and there will be people trying to exploit the results of this election, regardless of what that result is.

What is important, however, is what YOU are going to do.

After you finish reading this e-mail try to think of all the possible outcomes from this election. Think of all the possible emotions you may feel today and in the coming weeks. We are all different and are living different lives. Some of us are older and others are wealthier. Some of us are not even American, while others reading this e-mail may have incredible influence of groups of people who will be affected by the election’s outcome. Regardless of who is reading this, you will be affected by the outcome of this election in some way or another.

By preparing for all possible outcomes and anticipating your emotions you will be ready to face life, regardless of how things pan out. This isn’t meant to get you more anxious or depressed, it’s meant to get you prepared. Because you have responsibilities, you have moral obligations and you have duties you must take care of. You may feel enraged, or triumphant tomorrow. Perhaps you will feel more anxious or a dejected type of depression. Feeling emotions is only human, but if you’re able to anticipate now how you will feel depending on the results of the election, you will be one step ahead in ensuring those emotions don’t overwhelm you.

When it is all said and done, tomorrow is another day, and regardless of who will be President for the next 4 years, life will go on. That is the one truth that no one can deny, regardless of your political beliefs.

Be ready to accept what fate has in store for us. All that matters is that you control your emotions and that you act accordingly.

If you haven’t voted yet and still can, please do so today. These are the States that offer same-day voter registration: Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

We all have a moral obligation to make our voices heard and not just for ourselves, but for generations to come. So do the right thing and vote, if you can. Do it safely please, and do it fearlessly.

When it is all said and done, techno friends, please remember that presidents come and go, political parties come and go, but the music will always be there for us. Despite a pandemic that has put them on temporary hold, techno parties are there for you.

We are living through extremely divided times in the United States, but the love for techno and electronic music unites us and keeps us sane.
