Kristin Velvet Shares Her 5 Tracks Of The Moment

Berlin-based Australian, Kristin Velvet has been helming Daniel Steinberg and Nils Ohrmann’s Arms & Legs imprint for a few years now which includes releases and remixes from the likes of 808 State, Nick Holder, Paul Johnson, Robert Armani, Crazy P and DJ W!LD.

Friday the 12th EP follows Velvet’s recently released remix for Jesse Saunder’s seminal house classic ‘On & On’, a solo EP on Cassy’s Kwench imprint and her ongoing project with Felix Da Housecat ‘Cats Love Velvet’ on Arms & Legs. On remix duties, Cari Lekebusch has been a figurehead within the techno scene for nearly 30 years, heading up his H-Productions imprint which features previous releases from Adam Beyer, The Advent, Joel Mull, Jesper Dahlbäck to name a few.

Following our premiere of Cari Lekebusch’s remix of the title track of this latest release, we asked Kristin herself to share 5 of her current favorite tracks:

Kristin Velvet – Friday the 12th (Cari Lekebusch remix)

Cari absolutely nailed this remix, every element is so on point, I love the sound aesthetic and the arrangement is perfect. As elegant and groovy as big room techno gets, big respect!

Harry Axt – Crusty Canyon

I’m a huge Harry Axt fan, he’s a master of trippy but highly functional techno that always works the floor. I’ve played this one to death, around 2:30 the dance floor explodes.

Daniel Steinberg – E’Tron

An effective and timeless banger with a killer bassline that grooves like hell, maestro!

Felix Da Housecat x Kristin Velvet – Acid Picky

Felix and I are both on the same page when it comes to our taste in acid… we’re ‘Acid Picky’ and this is our kinda acid :)

Nils Ohrmann – Playin’ For People

A euphoric, jazz-inflected piano house jam if ever there was. This one is full of character and pulls on all my heartstrings.
