International Music Summit (IMS) is making its debut in Singapore today in conjunction with the annual ZoukOut Festival. Full agenda and panel schedule have been revealed via the IMS website. Industry speculations in recent years have deemed Asia-Pacific the next hot spot for both mainstream and underground electronic music. IMS will be spearheaded by the don, Pete Tong, and veteran Paul Oakenfold with an array of guest speakers from some of the top leaders in our industry. The festivities will begin today in Singapore and end on a high note with the annual ZoukOut Festival featuring the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Damian Lazarus, Loco Dice, Mano Le Tough, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, along with some of Singapore’s finest selectors. The Full line-up of the event can be found on their website. It’s hard to ignore what is currently happening in Asia-Pacific as events and conferences like these are gaining global recognition at a rate that hasn’t been felt since the U.S. boom as the shift of attention is expanding to the far east. Keep your eyes on Asia-Pacific in the short years ahead as we speculate that this is only a sign of what’s to come for the region.
