Field Trip 06: Watergate, Berlin

Flyer Nov 21

There are many club nights that we can dream of attending, but this Friday at Watergate Berlin easily comes in at the top of the list. Berlin is a city that is known as a hub for artists and musicians, especially in the techno industry, and nights like this shed light on why the city is so special. This Friday Watergate will host an all-star German lineup including Santé, Alex Niggemann, Metro, Robin Drimalski, Tiefschwarz, and a special live set from Âme. An extended party with a lineup like this can only mean one thing; one damn good time!

They don’t call it Watergate for nothing. The club is a two level institution overlooking the Spree River in Berlin, and is home to a phenomenal soundsystem and light installation that makes this a must-visit for anyone visiting the city. And with consistent lineups like this Friday it shouldn’t take much convincing even for the seasoned international clubber.

This lineup would be impressive regardless of what club plays host, but there is always something special when artists play on home turf. All of these artists have their own distinct style, and with them all coming together under one roof the vibe is sure to be proper from start to finish. For a small preview you can take a listen to Tiefschwarz’s Hello Watergate Podcast here:

So now after listening to sets and dreaming of setting foot in this iconic club, it makes me think…is it too early to book the next flight to Berlin? A stacked lineup of German talent in a relatively small club on the Spree River sounds like a dream come true. According to the Watergate Official Website, it will be Âme, Tiefschwarz, and Metro on the main floor while Santé, Alex Niggemann, and Robin Drimalski handle the soundtrack to the water floor. This is exactly where you’d find me if I were taking a techno Field Trip this weekend.
