This week the entire world was shocked by the news of the terrorist attacks that hit Barcelona and left 13 killed and more than 100 injured. Many figureheads in the electronic music world joined in expressing their condolences for the victims and families, as well as their support for a city that is considered to be one of the main hubs in the industry.
Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire was on Las Ramblas the day of the attack, and witnessed it first-hand. He had been riding his bicycle down the tree-lined pedestrian mall at the time of the rampage that unfortunately left many dead, and tweeted about it right away.
I was just riding my bike to the right of the Ramblas when a large white van came racing down the promenade plowing into everyone…in shock

Today he also took to his Instagram to give a more detailed account of what he saw. He also noted that his performance at TheLightOff in Barcelona would still go on, and that he planned to donate his fee to charity: “We WILL NOT give into fear but will unite through music and the celebration of friendship… I hope that it helps in some way.”
