Thanks so much for joining us, you made it through 2021, how was it for you?
2021 was definitely a challenging year, but I really enjoyed staying still and working on a lot of music. I’m so happy to be back out on the road and to see the touring industry pick up again.
The music that you create is house music-based and focused, what inspired you to go in this direction?
I got really into the house music scene when I was 15 and living in Paris. This was around the time that Ed Banger records were really starting to pop off. I then moved to Bristol where I really got into drum and bass, dubstep and then naturally progressed into house music. There’s nothing like listening to an amazing house music recording in a club.
You’ve had a lot of accomplishments under your belt. From creating your own label and event promotion to playing events like Life & Death’s 10 year anniversary, what is your most favorite accomplishment so far and why?
Releasing my first solo track is definitely my favorite accomplishment. I’d also say playing Circoloco Halloween has been one of my favorite shows to date.

Chloé Caillet on her Pvblic Xcess Project
In addition to your label and event promotions, your “Pvblic Xcess” collab with Josh Ludlow is stated to have a “fashion-forward” concept. Can you explain how you have integrated fashion with music into one project?
This started as we organized our party, the XCESS party during Fashion week in Paris. We then grew this to doing these in New York, London and Paris. We’ve always looked into integrating fashion as it’s been an important part of our following.
Why was it important to involve two separate mediums into the pvblic xcess project?
I really believe in mixing different art forms. Music and fashion have always coexisted perfectly. Artists, performers, dancers we all love use fashion to express our individual identities. I really felt it was important to bring these two together.

Chloé Caillet on what drew her to house music
You’ll be playing Desert Air Fest in December, what can the audience expect to hear from you? Will you be incorporating any of the pvblic xcess concepts into your performance?
I’m gonna be playing a groove-ridden set and will throw in a lot of new tracks I’ve been working on. I might even wear something funky.
What are you looking forward to closing out the year?
I’m excited to get back in my studio and finish my first EP along with some other projects.
