In Interview with Worthy

Born Sean Williams, Worthy is best known as one of the founding members of the Dirtybird crew, but to not look beyond his pursuits outside of Dirtybird is to do a disservice to his exalted, decades-long career.

Growing up on the east coast, Williams was surrounded by different kinds of dance music in his early years. He got his start DJing in New York playing drum and bass, hip hop, and various other genres before migrating to the West Coast; specifically Northern California. 6AM’s Guide To Hearing Protection

In this business, your ears are literally everything, and you need to protect them.

It might seem like a good idea to adopt the “you only live once” attitude when you’re enjoying a night of techno; to let the music envelop you without impediment. Dance music is just as much about longevity as it is about pleasure, though. Proper techno parties last eight hours or more, and if that party has a proper sound system that’s eight hours of nonstop exposure to hazardous decibel levels. Extrapolate that over years of techno parties and that’s thousands of hours of pummeling your hearing.

Why The U.S.’ Zero-Tolerance Drug Policy Was Never Going To Work

The term “War on Drugs” was coined in the summer of 1971 after Ronald Reagan ordered law-enforcement officials to directly target drug consumers rather than producers or suppliers.
