Arielle Free raises over £500,000 for charity during 50-hour cycling and DJing challenge

Arielle Free has raised over £500,000 for Comic Relief during a gruelling 50-hour cycling and DJing challenge.

The Scottish BBC Radio 1 DJ travelled in a 10-person bike furnished with decks across five UK cities in five days, setting off from York on Sunday 5th March and cycling in snow and sleet rain.

Free passed through Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester before finishing up her Tour de Dance challenge in Liverpool on Thursday 9th March. Along the way, she was joined by Radio 1 listeners as well as various Radio 1 DJs including Clara Amfo.

At the time of writing, she has raised £561,667 for UK charity Comic Relief, which will help people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty in the UK and around the world.

Red Nose Day 2023 will be broadcast on BBC One on 17th March with hosts AJ Odudu, David Tennant, Joel Dommett, Paddy McGuinness and Zoe Ball.
