Nicolò and Reda of the Italian duo Aderal refuse to learn how to DJ. Instead, the two prefer to do everything live on hardware. The resulting sets range from classic raw techno to broken-beat rhythms — from industrial to jungle and everything in between. This mix is an hour long dive into their signature sound and their first to debut on a US channel.
The two are currently supporting their first EP, Ribah, out now on Blush Recordings. Ribah channels industrial techno and EBM, embodying sultry sounds composed of winding melodies and raw, noise-driven atmospheres.
Aderal explain the concept of the EP: ‘Almost all the aspects of “Ribah” trace back to where we started making music together [in Reggio Emilia]. The artwork is a photo of a ladder leading to our studio in a derelict building, formerly a primary school. It’s where we met, developed our sound and played our first jams.’
