Chemical Brothers and Caribou nominated for Grammys in 2016

The Chemical Brothers

The nominations for the 58th Grammy Awards have been announced, with several nods going to artists new and old who have been pushing the boundaries beyond the EDM sound that we have seen commandeer the awards in recent years.

The Chemical Brothers’ “Go” is up for Best Dance Recording against against such tracks as “We’re All We Need” by Above & Beyond featuring Zoë Johnston, “Never Catch Me” by Lotus featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Runway (U & I)” by Galantis and “Where Are Ü Now” by Skrillex and Diplo with Justin Bieber.

In the Best Dance/Electronic Album category, British garage duo Disclosure won a nomination for Caracal, while Caribou received a nod for Our Love. Jamie XX  and his album In Color round up the category together with Born in Echoes by The Chemical Brothers and Skrillex And Diplo Present Jack Ü by, of course, Skrillex and Diplo.

Overall, it’s undoubtedly refreshing to see acts such as The Chemical Brothers, Caribou and Jamie XX receive recognition in categories that have habitually been ruled by acts at the forefront of mainstream dance music.

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 15th, 2016 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. A full list of nominees can be found here.
